Does it seem that your smartphone battery dies on you too quick? The answer from many smart phone user’s would be “yes!”, but if you are an Iphone 5 user, there may be a valid reason your battery does not last as long as it should. Apple have announced that they are recalling “a small percentage” of Iphone 5 smartphones for battery related issues
Apple says that affected devices might “suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently.” Apple have stated that only certain users in US and China are eligible for the free battery replacement under the recall. The recall covers only a small number of serial numbers on devices sold between September 2012 and January 2013.
A website is available for customers to input their serial number to see if they are eligible for a free replacement in this recall. The serial number can be found via Settings-General-About-Serial Number. Once you find the serial number, you can enter it into this website to see if the device is eligible for battery replacement. Battery replacement will begin on August 29 via authorized service providers, Apple retail stores, and Apple tech support. The battery replacement will be performed free of charge on devices covered.
